During the Evening With a Cop, several young leaders are chosen along with several youth at risk to spend the evening with police officers. All participants are given a tour of the police department and taken to the Mesquite Day Camp for a cookout, games, music, and positive interaction between the youth and officers. The evening ends with participants observing police officers at work during in-service calls, then returning to the police department. This program presents another side of police officers to youth at risk, hopefully making a positive impact.

At the conclusion of the school year all participants are invited back for a youth rally to continue the positive relationships started with the Evening With a Cop program.
