Christmas in the Park 2013 has been postponed - Friday, December 13th

Due to last weekendís winter storm forecast, Christmas in the Park was cancelled/postponed. After careful consideration, the Parks & Recreation Department felt it was in the best interest of everyone, due to safety concerns, to cancel the event.

Christmas in the Park has been rescheduled and scaled back for this Friday and Saturday, December 13 and 14. The opening ceremony will be held Friday, December 13 at 6:00 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact the Parks & Recreations Administrative Office at 972.216.6260. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Christmas in the Park is the longest running special event in Mesquite and the park will be filled with festive lights, holiday cheer and fun for all ages. Free or low cost activities include music and dance groups on the main stage, food vendors, live nativity scene, hayrides, hot drinks, Mrs. Clausís cookies, letters to Santa, a Yule log and much more. There will be costumed holiday characters greeting the crowd, and no holiday celebration is complete without Santa, who will make his appearance each evening of the event. Pictures with Santa are also available for a small fee.

Parking is free and available on site but there are also shuttles from Martinez Restaurant on Gross Road that will run regularly. All activities are outside, so dress accordingly and donít forget your camera!
