Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG)
CDBG is an annual grant from the
US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
With the use of these funds states, cities and
counties are encouraged to implement a wide range
of community and economic development activities.
Historically, Mesquite has used the funds for housing
rehabilitation, infrastructure improvements, community
policing and counseling services. The goals and
objectives for the grant are outlined in the Consolidated
Plan, which is updated every three to five years.
The Citizen Participation Plan outlines how the
community may play a role in the process that determines
the use of the funds. The Neighborhood Development
Specialist is responsible for the daily administration
and monitoring of the grant, updates to the Consolidated
Plan and the implementation of the Citizen Participation
Plan.
If you have any questions or comments
regarding the CDBG program, please contact the
Neighborhood Development Specialist at (972) 329-0941.
