Program Description Neighborhood Code Enforcement Addressing Mesquite


Mission

The City of Mesquite Neighborhood Initiatives Program exists to contribute to the maintenance and development of healthy, viable neighborhoods through capacity building and community partnerships.

The Community Services Department administers the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that the City receives annually.

The Neighborhood Initiatives Program is coordinated out of the Development Services Office and a full-time Neighborhood Code Officer works specifically in the target area to enforce housing and nuisance concerns and to provide education and awareness on code enforcement issues.
