YOUNG ADULT SERVICES

Each Mesquite Public Library location has a selection of materials dedicated to young adults, which includes teens in 7th through 12th grade. The Young Adult section includes popular fiction, graphic novels, manga and titles on the Lone Star Reading List.

We have a number of activities for teens. Get in the Game at the Mesquite North Branch Library invites teens to play games including Wii Sports, Super Mario for Wii, and Guitar Hero, and is designed for 6th through 12th graders. At the Mesquite Main Library, teens from 13 to 18 years old can join the Anime Club where they watch and discuss anime; the discussion continues at the Anime Club blog. During the summer, the Teen Reading Club encourages teens to read for fun and enrichment. Special programs are held on Wednesday afternoons during the summer in connection with the Reading Club. For a listing of specific programs, be sure to check our Calendar of Events.

Public access computers with Internet access and Microsoft Office products are available at both library locations. Teens 14 or older whose parent or legal guardian has signed permission on his/her library card application will be able to use their own library card number and PIN to sign on to the Library’s public access computers.
