Special Services

Recorded Books: Books recorded on cassettes and compact discs are available at our libraries. Applications for the Texas Talking Book Program for the visually impaired are available at both libraries.
Large Print Books: An assortment of titles with large print are available in both libraries.

Closed Captioned Videocassettes: Videocassettes and DVDs with closed-captioning are identified by distinctive labels on the video boxes. Additional open-captioned videos may be available through outside services at no charge.

Outreach Services: Library materials may be gathered for extended use in retirement and nursing homes, senior citizen centers, and day care facilities.

Computer Classes: Classes in computer-related topics (how to use a mouse, setting up an e-mail account, etc.) will be offered by the Mesquite Public Library System this fall. Call the Main Library at 972-216-6224 or the North Branch at 972-681-0465 for a complete schedule.

Assignment Alert: The assignment alert helps your public library know when you and your students will need materials for book reports or research assignments. Forms can be obtained from the school office or by contacting the librarians listed below. AT LEAST ONE WEEK'S NOTICE IS APPRECIATED. This form can be dropped off at either branch of the Mesquite Public Library or can be e-mailed to any of the addresses listed below. Thank you for you cooperation.
