Job openings for the Mesquite Public Library System and for all Mesquite city departments are posted on the Employment section of the City of Mesquite website. Here you can view all current job openings and apply online.
This is a large topic and beyond the scope of this document, but the Mesquite Public Library System does provide some services that can assist you in your job hunt.
Print materials: There are a number of books available on developing your resume, writing a cover letter, and going to an interview. Ask a reference librarian for help in locating these books.
Jobview kiosk: The Jobview kiosk is located at the Mesquite Main Library and lists job openings throughout the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. The kiosk is provided to the Library by the Texas Workforce Commission. The Jobview database is also available on any of the OPAC stations at both libraries and on the library’s website.

Texas Workskills Development in Libraries is a website developed through a grant from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. Here you will find links to many other resources that cover all aspects of job hunting. Besides online resources, there is also information on workshops and classes.
The Texas Workforce Commission website has information for job hunters, including unemployment insurance, market trends, and budget tools.
Work in Texas.com is the online job search database developed by the Texas Workforce Commission.
Texas CARES (Career Alternative Resource Evaluation System) allows you to perform a self-assessment and see how your skills can transfer from one career to another. It also includes career trends, such as what are the fastest growing career options now.
