GENEALOGY

Are you interested in finding out more about your ancestors? You may be a descendent of Napoleon or a member of the Royal Family. One of your ancestors may have invented the mouse trap, or even fought in the Revolutionary War. Maybe you’ve been meaning to put together your family tree or want to find a long lost relative. If you are interested in learning more about your family history, the Genealogy Department at the Mesquite Public Library System is the place to begin your search.

The Genealogy collection, which is housed at the Mesquite Main Library, includes books on how to create a family tree, as well as numerous local histories, family genealogies and yearbooks. Also, census records are available through the HeritageQuest database and microfilm collection. Whether you’re a seasoned researcher or just beginning the search for your roots, our genealogy librarian can help you get started on your journey to discover more about yourself through your family history.
