• Who are the Friends of the Mesquite Public Library?

  The Friends of the Mesquite Public Library exist to promote public use of the Mesquite Public Library System and appreciation of its value as a cultural and educational asset to the community, and to encourage the extension and improvement of its services.

  Joining the Friends of the Mesquite Public Library gives you:

  • A feeling of satisfaction that you are supporting an important community service for all ages.
  • Fun! — you’ll be amazed by the diversity of backgrounds, life experiences, and creativity that Friends bring to raising money — and sharing work!
  • You can help raise funds to purchase unfunded items for use by the public in the library.
  • You can have the first look at items for sale at the semi-annual used book sale by coming to the Sneak-a-Peek Sale.

• How much does it cost?

  Our Friends of the Library membership is a great bargain and a great way to support the library. Annual membership dues:

  • Individual $ 5.00
  • Family $ 10.00
  • Sustaining $ 25.00
  • Patron $ 50.00
  • Life $100.00 (one-time fee)
  • Senior Citizens (50+) pay half of each category

• What do the Friends do?

  The Friends of the Mesquite Public Library holds semi-annual book sales at the Main Library. There are lots of gently used materials for sale. For $5 you can buy a colorful cloth tote bag with the name and logo of the Friends and show the world that you are a supporter of the Friends of the Mesquite Public Library. All the money that is raised from these two activities will go to support activities and programs of the Mesquite Public Library System.

• How can I join in the fun?

  Anyone can join the Friends of the Mesquite Public Library. Visit either the Mesquite Main Library or the Mesquite North Branch Library, pick up a membership form and return the completed form with your membership fee to any staff member. If you would rather fill your form out ahead of time, the membership form is available on our website. Just fill it out, choose your membership level and return the form and your membership fee to your nearest library.
