Mesquite Public Library offers a variety of full-text online databases that are available from your own computer.

Our online catalog allows you to check on the availability of library items, review your account, renew items, or place a hold. Please note that the catalog undergoes regular daily maintenance and so may be unavailable between 10:30 pm and midnight.
 
TexShare Library of Texas is an extensive collection of databases which gives users the opportunity to access full-text articles in encyclopedias, almanacs, reference books, journals, newspapers, and electronic books. Databases include Ebsco MasterFile and Academic Search, Heritage Quest Online, Texas Digital Sanborn Maps, Ebsco Consumer Health Complete, Gale Literature Resources Center, InfoTrac Custom Newspapers, and Net Library. You will need a login and password, which you may request from a reference librarian.
 
Learning Express is an interactive learning database containing practice tests and tutorials designed to help patrons, students and adult learners succeed on academic or licensing tests. Tests include academic, civil service, military, professional licensing, certification and TAKS tests. There is also job hunting help on creating a resume and preparing for interviews. Create your own account to track your progress.
 
Jobview lists current job openings in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and allows you to apply for job online.
 
Download eBooks or eAudiobooks from our OverDrive catalog. The Mesquite Public Library System is a member of the Northeast Texas Digital Consortium which gives our cardholders access to a broad collection of fiction and nonfiction titles in a downloadable format. You will need your library card number and PIN to check out titles. Available beginning June 1, 2011.

NoveList is a database of fiction works. Use it to find titles in a series, identify a book by a plot summary, or find read-alike authors. Patrons can create an account to keep lists of books they have read and books they want to read. Keep in mind that the Mesquite Public Library System does not necessarily own every title found in NoveList. You will need a login and password, which you may request from a reference librarian.
 
The Dallas Morning News database features full-text articles from the newspaper dating back to 1984. Death notices can be searched back to 12/29/2002. Articles can be printed, saved or emailed. You will need your library card number to log in
 
The Mesquite News database features full-text articles from the newspaper dating back to 03/31/2006. Articles can be printed, saved or emailed. You will need your library card number to log in.
 
Gale Legal Forms includes a wide selection of Texas legal forms. Also includes a directory of Texas attorneys and a dictionary of legal definitions explained in layman’s language. You will need your library card number and your PIN to log in.
 
Learn a foreign language with Gale Powerspeak Languages. Available languages are Spanish, French, German, ESL Spanish, and Mandarin. You will need to log in using your library card and PIN, and then create an account to track your progress.
