Mesquite Community Theatre presents Tim Kelly's English mystery spoof, The Butler Did It, which finds Miss Maple, a society dowager noted for her imaginative weekend parties, awaiting a group of detective writers invited to eerie Ravenswood Manor where they are to assume the personalities of their fictional characters. The annual tree lighting ceremony begins at 6pm at the gazebo in historic downtown Mesquite. The Arts Council jazz trio playing traditional favorites begins the festivities with Mayor Monaco speaking at 6:30pm. Santa arrives shortly after that.
