Transportation

Freeway System

Four major highways: IH-20, IH-30, IH-635, and U.S. Highway 80 provide access to Mesquite. The extensive highway system provides convenient access to Dallas, all portions of the Metroplex and major shipping routes serving North America.

Major Streets

The Mesquite Thoroughfare Plan identifies the primary network of arterial streets, which are planned to provide access and circulation throughout the City. With the exception of Southeast Mesquite, major portions of the network are in place.

Mesquite Metro Airport (link)

Air transportation is another asset of a Mesquite location whether it is the availability to catch an international flight through DFW International Airport or a regional flight through Love Field or a corporate flight at the Mesquite Metro Airport. The Mesquite Metro Airport, in addition to corporate jet service, also provides cargo operation capabilities and is the only public airport to serve eastern Dallas County and the surrounding communities. The Mesquite Metro Airport is located on 250 acres and features a 6,000 X 100-foot concrete runway. Currently home to 210 aircraft, annual operations exceed 80,000 ranging from recreational to USAF C-130 freight operations. Services include tie-down service, outside storage or permanent tie-downs, hangars, two flight schools, aircraft maintenance business and aircraft sales. Mesquite owns and operates Mesquite Metro Airport. Both Love Field and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport provide convenient commercial passenger services to residents. Railroad service is provided by the Union Pacific main line, which bisects Mesquite's industrial districts. The Mesquite Metro Airport is located at 4300 East Scyene Rd.
