Wednesday, July 1: 6:15 - 8 p.m. Try karate at Evans Recreation Center. Children 5 and up will practice from 6:15 - 7 p.m. The Adult class is held from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Build positive attitudes, self confidence, self discipline and respect with Sensei Richardo Yip, a four degree black belt. Shotokan is a style of karate developed from various martial arts from Japan. Students have the ability to become mentors and leaders. 
The first class is free. 

Thursday, July 2: 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. Enjoy Family Swim at City Lake Aquatic Center. Minors must be accompanied by an adult 18+. The fee is $10 for a family of 4. Additional member will pay the twilight fee. 

Friday, July 3: 6 - 7 p.m. Stretch and bend at Yos Yoga at Evan Recreation Center. Yoga is an effective way to build strength, stamina and flexibility while cultivating a sense of peace and well-being. The class is great for muscle imbalances, pain and to reduce stress. 
The first class is free.

Sunday, July 5: All Day Bring your dog to the new Leash Free Zone located within the Town East Park.

Monday, July 6: 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Participate in Teen Camp at Dunford Recreation Center. Teen Camp give teens the opportunity to learn leadership skills while participating in community service projects and meet new friends all while having fun. Field trips and swim days are offered weekly.
The fee is $85 per week, Monday - Thursday for teens 12 - 15 years old

Tuesday, July 7: 6:45 - 7:45 p.m. Children ages 3-5 can dance with Ballet & Beyond at Dunford Recreation Center. Develop your child's coordination as well as an understanding of dance concepts and terminology in Ballet & Beyond. Through this enjoyable class, students will learn to use dance as a creative means of self-expression. This class will concentrate on vocabulary, alignment and movement.
The first class is free.

Wednesday, July 8: All Day Bring friends to and play sand volleyball at Evans Recreation Center.

Thursday, July 9: 6 - 7 p.m. Paint, dab, and doddle with Creative Kids at Florence Recreation Center! Each class will feature a new variety of projects as your child learns to get in touch with their creative side using a variety of artistic mediums. This class is for kids ages 6-10 years old.
The first class is free.

Friday, July 10: 6 - 9:30 p.m. Dance to the live music of Tight Rope at the Adults 50+ Dance located at Evans Recreation Center. Free dance lessons start at 6 p.m. and the band begins at 7 p.m.
The fee is $6 per person.

Saturday, July 11: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Kids 10 and under try Free Play Tennis. This is an instructional program teaching the basics of tennis at the Westlake Sports Center.

Monday, July 13: 7 - 9 p.m. Experience Beasley's Family Karate at Dunford Recreation Center. Family Karate is a program designed to teach physical fitness, self-defense, discipline and effective martial arts for the whole family. When one member joins, the next is 50% off!
The first class is free.

Tuesday, July 14: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Join in the fun at Girlfriends 80's Trivia Night at Westlake House. Bring your favorite 80’s food to share and dressed like it’s 1980!

Wednesday, July 15: 10 - 11:30 p.m. Adults 50+ Relax and enjoy City Lake Aquatic Center.
The fee is $1 per adult 50+

Thursday, July 16: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Join us in a fun Facebook challenge. Every hour a picture of a Mesquite park will be posted. Be the first to correctly identify the park AND find the hidden orange glasses in the picture and win a prize! facebook.com/mesquitetexas

Friday, July 17: 7 p.m. Join us at City Lake Park for Movies in the Park - Planes: Fire & Rescue and the second annual Touch-a-Truck. Pre-show entertainment will also include music, dancing and games.

Saturday, July 18: 7-10 p.m. Mesquite ISD high school students, try Teen Hoops. The Florence Recreation Center gym is reserved just for you! Bring your friends for a fun night of pick-up basketball. Participants must present a valid MISD student ID and a participation card.

Sunday, July 19: All Day Grab your bait and pole and go fishing at Pales Verdes Park.

Monday, July 20: 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Participate in Competition Archery Camp. This camp will offer a variety of different archery challenges to test your shooting abilities. From cups, to a piñata, balloons, cards and more these games will put campers to the test. Practice will be held all week long with a tournament at the end of the week. No prior knowledge is required and all equipment is provided.
The camp runs Monday - Wednesday and is $50 per camper. 

Tuesday, July 21: 7 - 8:30 p.m. Stretch and bend with Authentic Hatha Yoga at Evans Recreation Center. Escape thinking. Escape doing. Find presence with this authentic yoga class. Through the five tenets of Hatha yoga, we will learn to use the body's natural defenses to combat mental and physical stress in a nurturing, non-competitive environment. Perfect for all levels beginner to advanced.
The first class is free. 

Wednesday, July 22: All Day Pack a family picnic and head to the new City Lake Pavilion.

Saturday, July 25: 9 - 11 a.m. Celebrate the momentous opening of the Mesquite Heritage Trail. Meet at the Americana Trail Head, just northeast of Chisolm Trail for a celebration.

Sunday, July 26: All Day Enjoy a game of disc golf at one of our three locations. Porter, Debusk and Paschall Park.

Monday, July 27: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Participate in Volleyball Camp. This is a fun week for girls ages 6-14 to be introduced to volleyball skills such as: serving, passing, attacking, blocking and defense. The camp is one week and will be held in the evenings at Shaw or Thompson Elementary School. The camp will end with a scrimmage. 
The fee is $45 per player.

Tuesday, July 28: 6-7 p.m. Burn calories in HIIT class at Evans Recreation Center. The HIIT formula involves a 2:1 ratio of high intensity exercise to medium intensity exercise for recovery. These short, intense workouts provide improved athletic capacity and condition, improved glucose metabolism, and improved fat burning.
The first class is free.

Wednesday, July 29: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Play a round of Golf at the Mesquite Golf Club

Thursday, July 30: 1, 3 or 6 p.m. Come to Teddy Bear Workshop at Evans Recreation Center and children ages 2-12 can experience the joy of creating your very own stuffed animal! During the workshop, each child will have the opportunity to hand-stuff their very own cuddly teddy bear and create a customized birth certificate for their new cuddly friend.
The fee is $15 per person.

Friday, July 31: 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. Enjoy Family Swim at Vanston Pool. Minors must be accompanied by an adult 18+. The fee is $10 for a family of 4. Additional member will pay the twilight fee.
