Mesquite Parks and Recreation and Old Town Mesquite are proud to announce the annual Kid Fish event at City Lake Park, 403 South Galloway Avenue, on May 17. This year, the popular family-friendly fishing activity will begin at 9 a.m. with registration starting at 8 a.m. Kid Fish is a free event for children 16 and younger.
All fishing participants must register for the event and poles and bait will be provided, or participants may use their own fishing gear. The event is free, and we hope that through participation in the event, kids gain an appreciation for the sport of fishing as well as awareness for the environment and its natural resources. Prizes and trophies will be awarded immediately following the final measuring and weigh-in of the fish.
More About the Program
Kid Fish is a non-profit outreach program designed to educate and provide a hands-on fishing experience and memories for children and families. The event will give children a chance to experience the sport of fishing as well as the outdoors. Families are welcome to spend the day enjoying the park and picnic while watching their children fish.
Donations to help expand the Kid Fish program are accepted for the event, although they are not necessary to participate. For more information on this event, please call 972-216-6260.
