Hero Run - 2015


Our mission for the Hero Run is to support the Therapeutic and Adaptive Recreation programs in Mesquite. This event will help provide quality sports training and athletic competitions for children and adults with special needs. The race is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, at Paschall Park. We ask that you come dressed as your favorite superhero and help us save the day for our special needs community.

Event Details

Kid Dash, 1 Mile
This run is a non-competitive course with activity stations along the way and is open to participants of all ages. Be aware - Runners may get dirty, wet and or sticky during the run. The course will be located in Paschall Park. Entry fee is $15.

Hero Run, 3 Mile 
This run is non-competitive and will not have chip timing. It is open to all ages. Entry fee $25 (through May 29) and $30 (race day).

  • Travis Williams Softball Complex, 1005 New Market Rd.
  • $15 - Kid Dash, 1 mile
  • $25 - 5K, 3 miles
  • $30 - Day of Registration

Registration can be done online, in person at Dunford, Evans, Florence or Rutherford Recreation Centers as well as the Parks and Recreation Administration office and by mail.

Event Timeline
  • 7 a.m.: Registration 
  • 8 a.m.: Kid Dash, 1 Mile
  • 8:30 a.m.: Hero Run, 3 Mile
Registrations received by May 22 will receive a souvenir t-shirt. All runner will receive a participation medal. T-shirts will be available for pick up on run day at the pre-registered runner tent. 

Inclement Weather
Cancellation will only occur in extreme weather circumstances. There will be no refunds. Your entry fee will be used as a donations. If weather is questionable we will post information on the City's FaceBook page after 7 a.m. on run day.
